Anpetu Luta Otipi provides the following broad categories of services:
Prevention:
Aims to delay the initiation and/or progression alcohol, tobacco and other drugs (ATODs). Prevention initiatives can be implemented at the population level as well as within the small group setting. Prevention programs have the potential to make a great impact when services are: 1. Rooted in behavioral health science; 2. Informed by a community’s specific epidemiological reality; and 3. Delivered with fidelity by passionate, qualified professionals.
Early Intervention:
Aims to curb at risk behavior (i.e. binge drinking) that has not yet become a disorder (i.e. alcoholism). Early Intervention services are delivered in groups or one-on-one with clients. Early Intervention links the client with both internal and/or external resources that are the most appropriate for his/her situation.
Alcohol and Drug Evaluation:
Aims to provide alcohol and substance abuse diagnostic services to determine the presence of alcohol and substance abuse disorders. Alcohol and drug evaluation services utilize criteria established by the DSM-V Revised as the basis for diagnosis. Anpetu Luta Otipi uses a battery of screening and diagnostic instruments to provide a comprehensive assessment of individuals presenting to Anpetu Luta Otipi. Results from client assessment are used to arrange treatment, recovery support, and other social services that are administered within the Tribe and by external agencies.
Outpatient Treatment:
Aims to provide intervention for individuals and families burdened with alcohol and substance abuse disorders. Outpatient Treatment services provides diagnostic services, group and individual counseling, alcohol and drug abuse education. When implemented in a group setting, Outpatient Treatment works toward creating an environment of positive peer culture where clients learn from each other’s experiences and work together to develop solutions to common problems. Outpatient Treatment is tied to each client’s individual treatment/success plan, which facilitates the development of new life skills necessary to eliminate alcoholism, substance abuse, and other destructive behavior.
Primary Residential Treatment:
Aims to facilitate the rehabilitation of an alcohol/substance abuse user by placing the client in a highly structured therapeutic environment that is short-term ranging from 30 to 60 days. Primary Residential Treatment provides diagnostic services, group and individual counseling, alcohol and drug abuse education. Similar to other addition treatment services, Primary Residential Treatment assists the client cultivate psychological self- awareness and positive self-esteem, healthy decision making skills, coping strategies, and attitudes of civic/community responsibility. However, the counselor–client contact hours and programming are substantially more intense than prevention or outpatient services.
Recovery Support:
Aim to assist clients in recovery maintenance. Anpetu Luta Otipi’s Recovery Support services includes formal aftercare programs, wellbriety and traditional pathways, and talking circles. Clients may have had their primary treatment experience within Anpetu Luta Otipi or they may arrive to the program in order to solely take advantage of formal and informal recovery support services. Recovery Support programs build on the progress achieved in primary treatment assisting the client to maintain a commitment to sobriety by encouraging a continuous self and environmental reflection. Recovery Support programs help the client continue to develop their problem solving skills and individual and family healing.
